GameSpeak translates game chat. To do that it has to send the text you choose to translate to a language model, and it keeps a small amount of data so the app can remember your settings and enforce usage limits. This page explains exactly what that means in clear, direct language.
GameSpeak does not ask for your name, email or phone number. When you first open the app an anonymous account is created automatically — it is just an identifier, not tied to who you are. You may optionally link Sign in with Apple so your data survives reinstalling the app; if you do, we store the identifier Apple gives us and, if you allow it, your email address.
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Text you translate, and the translation | To show your recent translations, to give later messages context, and to account for usage costs |
| Player profiles you create — nickname, language, alliance, role, your notes | So translations can take that person into account. You enter these; nothing is collected automatically |
| Your profile — in-game name, alliance, role, reply tone, language | So replies sound like you and arrive in your language |
| Saved messages and your alliance glossary | Content you deliberately store for reuse |
| Usage counts and subscription status | To apply monthly limits and unlock PRO features |
We do not collect your keystrokes. The GameSpeak keyboard requires "Full Access" because an iOS keyboard cannot reach the internet or the clipboard without it. It sends only the text you explicitly ask it to translate. What you type elsewhere is never read, recorded or transmitted.
| Service | What it receives |
|---|---|
| OpenAI | The text you translate, to produce the translation. Not used to train their models |
| Supabase | Hosts the database and the servers where the data above is stored |
| RevenueCat | Subscription status. No message content |
| Apple | Handles payment. We never see your payment details |
| Cloudflare | Bot protection when the anonymous account is created. No message content |
That is the complete list. GameSpeak contains no advertising, no tracking SDKs and no analytics SDKs. Your data is not sold, rented or shared for marketing, and no profile of you is built for advertising purposes.
Your translations, players, notes and saved messages stay until you delete them or delete your account. Usage counters are kept per month for limits and billing accuracy. Deleting your account removes all of it.
In the app: Settings → Account → Delete account. This permanently removes your account and everything listed above. It cannot be undone, and it does not cancel an active subscription — subscriptions are managed by Apple, in your device's Settings. You can also email [email protected] and we will do it for you.
GameSpeak is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has used the app, write to us and we will delete the account.
Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your data, and to object to certain processing. Deletion is available in the app; for anything else email [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days.
If this policy changes in a way that affects you, the date at the top changes and the app will tell you before the change takes effect.
